Tokyo, January 6 – Mazda Motor announced on Monday that it will establish a new facility to produce module packs for automotive cylindrical lithium-ion battery cells. This plant will be located in Iwakuni City, situated in southwest Japan, specifically in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The new facility will manufacture modules and packs using automotive cylindrical lithium-ion battery cells sourced from Panasonic Energy, according to a statement from the automaker.
