To help its staff “work faster, better, and smarter,” Standard Chartered has committed over S$4.5 billion to accelerate training in generative AI and data. This global initiative is evident in Singapore, where the bank launched a dedicated AI Learning Hub in November 2024, featuring an accredited foundational AI literacy course. Furthermore, SC introduced its own internal generative AI application, SC GPT, in March 2025. The training efforts have seen positive results, with more than 15% of the bank’s Singapore-based employees having already completed at least one of the offered AI programs.
