Several social media videos published by President Donald Trump’s campaign and the White House have had Taylor Swift’s music removed after incorporating two of the pop star’s tracks over the past week. Neither representatives for Swift nor the White House responded immediately to requests for comment regarding the removals.

Although Swift supported Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election and previously voiced sharp opposition to Trump during the 2020 campaign, the administration and his campaign team have repeatedly featured her music in recent promotional content. In June, a campaign video used the track “I Knew It, I Knew You” over footage of Trump with children, attending a UFC event, and speaking at a rally. In April, a White House post combined footage of the Artemis II space crew visiting the White House with Swift’s track “High Infidelity.” Additionally, a November TikTok featured “The Fate of Ophelia” alongside patriotic imagery and Trump’s 2023 mugshot.

A White House spokesperson previously acknowledged that such posts were strategically designed to prompt widespread news coverage and social media reaction. The campaign’s digital communications team regularly pairs mainstream hit songs with political media showcasing key policy initiatives, foreign policy events, and campaign highlights.
