Goldman Sachs partners with Anthropic to deploy AI agents for banking operations, CNBC reports

Goldman Sachs is partnering with technology startup Anthropic to build artificial intelligence agents designed to automate a growing range of internal operations, according to comments from the bank’s chief information officer reported by CNBC.

The bank confirmed the collaboration, noting that over the past six months, Anthropic engineers have worked closely with Goldman teams to develop autonomous AI tools. These agents are being designed to handle functions such as trade and transaction accounting, as well as client onboarding and due diligence processes.

Anthropic has been expanding its enterprise offerings through products like Claude Cowork, which is built to perform computer-based tasks for professional workers.

Goldman is currently in the early phases of developing AI agents using Anthropic’s Claude model. The technology is expected to significantly speed up key operational workflows. The bank plans to introduce the agents in the near future, although no specific launch timeline has been disclosed.
