DBS Launches Free Support to Help Small Businesses Address Technology Gaps

DBS SME Banking has unveiled “DBS for SMEs,” a complimentary initiative offering operational, financial, and digital resources to help small businesses build long-term resilience. The launch positions DBS as the first financial institution to implement supplementary support measures following Singapore’s $703 million (S$900 million) national relief package. The scheme addresses key vulnerabilities identified in a recent DBS survey, which revealed that 45% of local SMEs are actively working to diversify their revenue streams, while 43% face difficulties adapting to rapid technological shifts.

The program delivers targeted assistance across three primary pillars: capability building, global transaction tools, and capital access.

Through its advisory framework, the bank is providing complimentary onboarding workshops, individual consulting, and specialized guidance tailored to key industries such as construction and healthcare. The initiative also incorporates dedicated programming for second-generation business leaders alongside direct access to DBS’s proprietary artificial intelligence and sustainability platforms.

To support global commerce, the program offers reduced transaction fees and enhanced trade benefits spanning 132 currencies across 190 countries. In addition, participating SMEs can lock in forward foreign exchange rates up front without utilizing existing credit facilities.

Finally, on the financing front, DBS is expanding access to working capital and project loans by partnering with Enterprise Singapore under the broader Enterprise Financing Scheme framework.
