Citigroup Global Markets Korea (CGMK) expects ongoing momentum in both inbound and outbound mergers and acquisitions (M&A) across key sectors, including technology, consumer goods, and healthcare. To date, the bank has raised $60 billion for Korean clients through 40 transactions across international debt and equity markets.
The investment banking franchise anticipates a record year for capital markets issuance in South Korea, backed by a robust deal pipeline. Highlights include advising on SK Hynix’s $26.5 billion U.S. initial public offering (IPO), which stands as the largest U.S. listing by a foreign issuer to date.
CGMK currently holds a 16% market share according to the Dealogic Korea Investment Banking Wallet League table. CGMK CEO Jangho Park noted that as domestic corporations expand internationally, the bank is seeing a corresponding rise in M&A activity, with companies increasingly relying on Citi’s global network for major strategic financing and advisory services.
