On Wednesday, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced its plan to invest 7.8 billion euros ($8.44 billion) in Germany through 2040, as part of its effort to develop a cloud computing infrastructure tailored for Europe.
To preserve the privacy of government data and that of its clients in highly regulated businesses, Amazon last year announced intentions to store data on servers situated in the European Union.
The corporation stated that by the end of 2025, it will open a number of data centers that will be accessible to all clients in the German state of Brandenburg.
According to a release, the increased investment would annually sustain 2,800 full-time jobs in regional German enterprises.
Earlier this month, AWS announced that it would assist Telefonica Germany in migrating one million 5G users to its cloud platform.
