JPMorgan Maintains Asia Hiring Momentum Following 20%+ Corporate Banking Growth

JPMorgan Chase plans to maintain its hiring momentum across the Asia-Pacific region into 2027, driven by strong corporate banking performance where revenues grew by significantly more than 20% this year. In an interview at the bank’s Singapore office, regional executives Oliver Brinkmann and Kerwin Clayton confirmed that the firm is finalizing a ~15% increase in APAC corporate banking staff this year, following a 20% headcount expansion in 2025.

The ongoing recruitment effort spans teams serving mid-sized and large enterprises, financial institutions, non-bank financial entities, and the innovation sector across multiple regional markets. Clayton noted that hiring will continue at a similar trajectory in 2027 to support broad-based demand across the region.

The surge in corporate banking growth has been propelled by Asian firms expanding globally alongside escalating capital investment in supply chains, artificial intelligence, and data center infrastructure. Performance was notably strong in markets such as Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Australia, while Southeast Asia also expanded by over 20%. Malaysia saw boosted activity from foreign direct investment in AI infrastructure, and Singapore solidified its position as a primary regional connector and operational hub.

Brinkmann highlighted intense market activity surrounding financing for graphics processing units (GPUs) and data centers to power AI initiatives. To support these evolving trade flows and rising intra-Asia commerce, JPMorgan is concurrently deploying additional capital toward trade finance and working capital solutions across the region.
