Jakarta, Indonesia — As industries accelerate their transition toward more sustainable and circular practices, Indo Waste & Recycling 2026 Expo & Forum continues to evolve as a key platform connecting Indonesia with the global sustainability ecosystem. By bringing together industry players, innovators, and decision makers, the event plays an increasingly important role in driving dialogue, collaboration, and practical real-world solutions across the environment and waste management sectors.
Amid global shifts in petrochemical supply chains, Indonesia’s plastic and waste management industries are entering a phase of transformation that presents significant opportunities. While disruptions in naphtha supply have prompted adjustments across global markets, Indonesia continues to demonstrate resilience, supported by strong domestic demand and stable industrial performance. Based on data from the Industrial Confidence Index (IKI) in March 2026, the packaging subsector remains in an expansionary phase, reflecting healthy production levels and sustained market activity. Responding to these dynamics, the government is accelerating a series of strategic measures to ensure long-term supply continuity while unlocking new industry opportunities. As stated by Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, “the government encourages greater use of high-quality recycled plastics as a substitute supply to maintain stock stability in the market.” This approach, alongside efforts to diversify raw material sourcing and utilise alternative feedstocks such as Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), signals a clear shift towards a more resilient and circular industry, creating expanding opportunities in sustainable materials, recycling technologies, and integrated waste management solutions across Indonesia. Building on this momentum, Indo Waste & Recycling continues to expand its global outreach through strategic engagements, reinforcing its position as a growing international platform. As part of this effort, Indo Waste & Recycling will participate at an international plastic and rubber industries exhibition held in Shanghai on 21–24 April 2026. The visit focuses on engaging with potential exhibitors, identifying relevant technologies, and exploring collaboration opportunities with industry stakeholders.
The upcoming edition of Indo Waste & Recycling will take place on 11–13 August 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Indonesia, held alongside Indo Water, Indo Renergy & Electric, Indo Security, Indo Firex, and IISMEX (Indonesia International Smart City Expo & Forum), creating a comprehensive platform that connects industries under one roof.
In line with the increasing level of industry participation year by year, Indo Waste & Recycling continues to demonstrate strong and positive growth. In its 2025 edition, the exhibition recorded a total gross exhibition area of 15,888 square metres, featuring 620 exhibitors from 26 countries, including 12 international pavilions. Building on this achievement, the exhibition is targeting a larger-scale event this year, aiming to welcome around 700 exhibitors from 30 countries and attract approximately 17.000 visitors.
