Abu Dhabi Tourism Thrives with Strong April Revenue and Guest Numbers
Abu Dhabi’s hotel sector saw robust performance in April 2025, generating AED 847 million in revenue. This impressive figure was primarily driven by AED 540 million from room sales, with an additional AED 256 million from food and beverage and AED 51 million from other services.
The emirate’s appeal as a top global tourist destination is evident in the preliminary data from the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi. In March 2025, approximately 531,000 guests visited hotels across Abu Dhabi.
Key Metrics Highlight Strong Performance
During April, 172 hotel establishments were operational, offering 34,383 rooms. These accommodations hosted over 1.52 million guest nights, resulting in an impressive average occupancy rate of 87%. The average revenue per available room reached AED 614, further underscoring the sector’s health.
Diverse International Appeal
International visitors continue to flock to Abu Dhabi. Guests from non-Arab Asian countries led the pack with 149,000 hotel guests, closely followed by European visitors at 148,000. UAE nationals also contributed significantly, with 97,000 guests. This diverse guest profile highlights Abu Dhabi’s growing global appeal and strengthens its position as a preferred destination for international travelers.
Luxury Stays Remain Popular
Five-star hotels proved to be the most popular choice, welcoming 265,000 guests, with European visitors making up a large portion of this segment (95,000). Four-star hotels hosted 143,000 guests, while hotels rated three stars or below received 63,000 guests. Additionally, 61,000 guests opted for hotel apartments.
This sustained growth in the tourism sector reinforces Abu Dhabi’s status as a premier global travel destination.
