U.S. chipmaker Qualcomm announced on Tuesday the opening of a new artificial intelligence research and development center in Vietnam. The center will focus on developing generative and agentic AI for a range of devices, including smartphones, PCs, and automotive applications. This initiative aligns with Vietnam’s national goals for AI and digital growth and includes plans for technology transfer and local collaboration. Vietnam’s leader, To Lam, expressed support for Qualcomm’s continued expansion in the country.
