Ant International is expanding its presence in the Middle East by bringing its cross-border digital payment service, Alipay+, to Saudi Arabia.
Scheduled for launch in 2026, the collaboration will integrate Alipay+ with Saudi Arabia’s national payment scheme, mada. This integration means that local merchants and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Kingdom will be able to accept QR payments from any of the over 36 international payment partners currently on the Alipay+ network.
According to Ant International President Douglas Feagin, the agreement “deepens our presence and commitment to Saudi Arabia,” aiming to build a thriving digital future. This launch follows other 2025 activities in the Kingdom, such as Ant International’s unified merchant solution, Antom, receiving a PTSP certificate. Globally, Alipay+ connects about 1.7 billion user accounts to merchants across 70 markets, including other national schemes in Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea.
