Nicolas Ghesquiere, Louis Vuitton’s womenswear designer, marked his tenth anniversary at the LVMH-owned label with a fashion presentation. The show took place at the Louvre Museum on Tuesday night, the final day of Paris Fashion Week.

Guests walked across the iconic museum’s huge Cour Carree, stopping for photos at booths draped with LV logos. Then, they reached the venue, a tent that filled an interior courtyard.

A 19th-century French covered market made of iron and glass stood before us, resembling a bygone era. However, at its center, a gigantic, futuristic globe with glowing tubes hinted at a contrasting modernity.

In the show notes, the designer wrote, “This is a meaningful evening,” as he tucked a letter to the audience into an envelope left on each seat. He recalled the excitement of his first presentation for the company.

“Ten years later, this evening is a new dawn.”

Mirwais’ “Disco Science” included an atmospheric sound track complete with scratchy noises and buzzing neon sounds.

In sync with the music, models marched down the runway, showcasing voluminous mini-skirts, glittery dresses, jewel-encrusted jackets, and sheer, lightweight pants. The vibrant display captivated the audience’s attention.

Models wearing fuzzy mittens paraded down the runway, and those donning knit hats with a flat fold followed suit. Meanwhile, handbags made their entrance in a variety of forms and sizes.

Paris Fashion Week showcases several of the world’s most prominent fashion labels, such as LVMH’s Dior, Chanel, Hermes, and Kering’s Saint Laurent. Additionally, it is a platform where these renowned brands present their latest creations and set the tone for global fashion trends.
