Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya) has teamed up with Schneider Electric to encourage Thai businesses, particularly SMEs, to adopt energy-efficient technologies.
A Collaborative Approach to Sustainability
This partnership brings together Schneider Electric’s energy management and automation expertise with Krungsri’s sustainable finance capabilities. Their goal is to provide advanced energy technologies alongside financial solutions to help Thailand tackle its energy and environmental issues.
Pairote Cheunkrut, Krungsri’s chief strategy officer, stated that as they aim to be a leading sustainable and regional bank, Krungsri is committed to promoting ESG practices among Thai businesses. He highlighted the importance of supporting SMEs, which face significant electricity costs (10-30% depending on the business), as they navigate energy and environmental changes.
Key Focus Areas
The collaboration will concentrate on two main areas: decarbonization and ecosystem development, and sustainable finance solutions. Through the latter, Krungsri will offer financial assistance to help SMEs invest in energy-efficient technologies, thereby reducing carbon emissions and improving their long-term business sustainability.
