HSBC has named Valentín Valderrábano as chief commercial officer for its International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) business.
He will assume the position on 20 February, with a mandate to advance IWPB’s strategic priorities, including accelerating wealth-driven growth, improving the client experience, and deepening the integration of digital and branch-based services to provide a seamless, high-quality offering, the bank said in a statement.
Valderrábano joins HSBC from Citibank, where he most recently held the role of chief operating officer for global wealth.
Based in Hong Kong, he will relocate from New York and report to Barry O’Byrne, chief executive officer of IWPB.
Valderrábano brings more than two decades of international experience across retail banking and wealth management.
