Apple has finalized a multi-year semiconductor supply agreement with Broadcom valued at more than $30 billion, running through 2031. The deal focuses on the production of film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) filters—critical radio-frequency components used for wireless connectivity across Apple devices—which the two companies have co-developed since 2023. Following the announcement, Broadcom’s stock climbed more than 4%, while Apple’s shares experienced a slight decline.
The partnership heavily aligns with the Trump administration’s ongoing initiatives to boost domestic technology supply chains. As part of the contract, Broadcom will commit $1.5 billion toward expanding its manufacturing facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, to manufacture at least 15 billion chips. Apple CEO Tim Cook highlighted that the Fort Collins expansion supports the company’s efforts to increase domestic manufacturing and expressed gratitude for the administration’s backing of such initiatives. This deal follows an August 2025 announcement in which Apple raised its total U.S. investment target to $600 billion over four years, marking a $100 billion increase from its previous domestic spending goals.
