ANZ appoints Ender Tanar as Japan country head
ANZ has appointed Ender Tanar as its country head for Japan, subject to regulatory approval.
Tanar, who has led ANZ’s German operations for seven years, previously worked at Lloyds Bank, Mizuho, KPMG, and JPMorgan Chase. He will report to Simon Ireland, ANZ’s managing director for international.
Ireland said Japan presents strong opportunities in markets, financial institutions, and debt capital markets, adding that Tanar is well-placed to drive the next phase of growth. He noted the appointment also reflects the strength of ANZ’s international leadership bench.
ANZ has operated in Japan since 1969.
