Ant International has partnered with Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol to strengthen its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
The protocol creates a shared standard that allows agents and systems to work seamlessly across consumer platforms, merchants, and payment providers, enabling smoother commerce, Ant International said in a statement.
Rather than relying on separate integrations for each agent, UCP allows multiple agents to interact through a single framework, the company added.
Through UCP, AI interfaces such as the Gemini app and Google Search’s AI mode will soon let users complete purchases directly within chat and make payments in one tap using “Pay with GPay,” Ant International said.
