Alipay+ is significantly expanding its payments and digital services ecosystem globally, driven partly by a surge in usage in Singapore. According to a recent company report, payments made via the SGQR network jumped by over 1.7 times year-on-year. This strong growth aligns with Singapore’s leading position, as the report also ranked the city-state first globally for projected tourism spending growth in 2025.
To support this expansion and cater to increasing international demand, Alipay+ is dramatically widening its reach. Its cross-border payment acceptance now covers more than 100 markets, and its partner ecosystem has grown to 40 collaborators, collectively representing 1.8 billion users. Key additions to its partnership network include Bluecode in Europe, PayPay in Japan, and KBank in Thailand.
The platform is also introducing several new services centered on artificial intelligence and enhanced traveler experience. These new offerings include Alipay+ Voyager, an integrated AI-powered travel agent; Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit, an AI-as-a-Service solution designed for digital wallets; and expanded capabilities for in-app tax refunds through a partnership with Global Blue.
