Saudi Arabia Accounts for 26% of MENA Venture Investors in H1 2026

Saudi Arabia emerged as the largest single contributor to the investor base in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region during the first half of 2026, capturing a 26% share of total investors, according to a report by venture data platform MAGNiTT. Across the region, 243 venture capital investors participated in funding rounds over the six-month period. However, global engagement shifted significantly: international investor participation dropped 48% year-over-year, while regional investor activity saw a modest 2% decline, cementing a stronger footprint for domestic and regional capital within the ecosystem.

The shift toward localized funding coincided with a 39% decline in international capital deployment and greater deal consolidation. Capital became concentrated among a select group of players, with the top 10 most active investors accounting for 45% of all MENA deals in H1 2026, up from 39% in the prior-year period. MAGNiTT’s findings highlight a transforming venture capital landscape across the region—one increasingly anchored by local investors and characterized by concentrated dealmaking amid lower global participation.
