The Top Payment Startups Shaping Southeast Asia’s Market

Southeast Asia’s top 12 payment startups have raised a combined $2.7 billion in disclosed funding, with Singapore-based firms dominating the landscape, according to data from market intelligence platform Tracxn. Headquartering nine of the 12 companies on the list, Singapore accounts for the vast majority of the region’s total, led by cross-border platform Airwallex. Airwallex alone raised $320 million in a Series H round in June 2026, bringing its total equity funding to $1.9 billion—representing over half of the top 12’s combined funding.

The remainder of the top five includes Singapore’s Thunes ($362 million total equity) and Finture Group ($100 million total equity), followed by Indonesian startups Honest ($100 million) and OY! ($87 million). Singaporean startups also secured positions six through ten, featuring MetaComp ($35 million), Chocolate Finance ($34 million), Finno ($27 million), dtcpay ($27 million), and Qashier ($22 million). The bottom of the ranking is rounded out by Vietnam’s automated toll and EV-charging payment provider VETC ($19 million) and Singapore’s FlexM ($13 million).

Capital raising activity in the region has remained active into 2026, with four of the featured startups—Airwallex, MetaComp, dtcpay, and Qashier—closing funding rounds during the first half of the year. According to Tracxn, the subsectors represented across the top 12 span cross-border payment networks, enterprise infrastructure, merchant commerce, embedded finance, and digital asset-enabled solutions.
