Taiwan signs MoU with India’s IFSCA to enhance cross-border regulatory cooperation

Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with India’s International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) to strengthen bilateral regulatory cooperation.

The agreement covers information sharing, coordinated enforcement of financial rules, and support for establishing cross-border branches.

IFSCA oversees India’s International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in GIFT City, which is positioned as a hub offering flexible regulations, competitive tax incentives, and an efficient operating environment, according to the FSC.

Designated as a special international financial jurisdiction, the IFSC allows transactions in any freely convertible foreign currency.

Two Taiwanese lenders — CTBC Bank and Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank — have already secured FSC approval to apply for branch openings in GIFT City.
