Financial wellness tops life priorities for one in two APAC consumers, survey finds

Over Half of APAC Consumers Prioritise Financial Wellness Above Health and Family: Personetics Study

More than one in two consumers (57%) in the Asia-Pacific region now rank financial wellness as their top life priority, surpassing even health, wellbeing, and family, according to new findings from Personetics, an AI-driven personalisation and engagement solutions provider for financial institutions.

The study, based on a global survey of 2,000 consumers—a quarter of whom were from the Asia-Pacific—found that respondents placed financial wellness ahead of health and wellbeing (49%) and family and relationships (48%).

Younger consumers in the region are leading this shift. Generation Z respondents (aged 17–27) in APAC rated financial wellness significantly higher than other age groups, with 65% identifying it as their top priority. They also showed the strongest appetite for digital financial tools, with 85% expressing that they are “extremely” or “very interested” in services that help them manage their finances more effectively.

The report also underscores growing expectations for personalised financial guidance. Nearly 80% of APAC consumers said they would consider switching banks if another institution offered more relevant, timely, and actionable advice to improve their financial health.

Survey participants were drawn from Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam, representing a broad spectrum of economic and cultural backgrounds across the region.

The findings suggest that as consumers increasingly seek control and clarity over their financial futures, banks and financial institutions in APAC have a significant opportunity to strengthen customer loyalty through tailored, proactive financial wellness initiatives.
