Luanne Lim, Former HSBC Hong Kong Chief, Named Hang Seng Bank CEO

Hang Seng Bank has named Luanne Lim as its new Executive Director and CEO, effective October 20th. In her new capacity, she will also chair the Operating Committee and join the Nomination Committee.

Lim, who is 51, takes over from Diana Cesar, who is stepping down on the same day to return to The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation as Vice Chairman for Hong Kong, advising HSBC’s Co-CEOs for Asia and the Middle East.

Lim was previously the CEO of HSBC Hong Kong from 2022 to 2025 and has held other senior roles for HSBC in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the National University of Singapore. Hang Seng confirmed that Lim’s annual compensation will include a fixed remuneration of $1.09 million (HK$8.5 million), plus a discretionary bonus and other executive benefits.
