Paul Griffiths predicts Dubai Airport will exceed 100 million passengers within two years.

In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) at the Dubai Airshow press conference, Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths made several significant announcements regarding the airports and the upcoming airshow.

Griffiths projected that Dubai International Airport (DXB) will handle a record million passengers by the close of , maintaining its -year streak as the world’s busiest international hub. He is confident that DXB will exceed million passengers by . Long-term plans indicate a shift of operations to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) by to handle an estimated million passengers, with DXB’s volume set to peak around million in . Griffiths also confirmed that development works are underway at DWC, which has been operational since for cargo and executive flights, with final designs for the massive expansion currently being finalized.

Regarding the Dubai Airshow , Griffiths hailed it as the most impressive edition yet and the world’s top aviation event. He noted its importance for showcasing new technologies, particularly in areas like Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) electric aircraft, space technologies, and advanced defense systems.
