HSBC Establishes Singapore Center to Study Quantum Tech for Finance.

HSBC has established a Quantum Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Singapore to advance the use of quantum technology in finance. A primary goal is to ensure long-term infrastructure security by prioritizing research into post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and quantum key distribution (QKD). Beyond security, the CoE will look for ways that quantum computing can improve its financial modeling and machine learning capabilities. The center is also designed to be a platform for collaboration, allowing HSBC to actively engage with regulators and other industry partners, notably through its participation in the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) QKD sandbox alongside local banks like DBS, OCBC, and UOB.
