HSBC Cuts Over Two Dozen Analyst Jobs in Investment Banking Restructuring
London, UK – HSBC has recently eliminated more than two dozen analyst positions as part of a significant restructuring within its investment banking division, Bloomberg reports, citing informed sources. The majority of these job cuts were concentrated in Europe.
Among the affected individuals is Steven Major, who served as HSBC’s Dubai-based global head of fixed income research.
As part of these organizational changes, HSBC is also adjusting its leadership structure. Murat Ulgen will now take on the role of interim head of macro strategy, in addition to his current responsibilities as global head of emerging markets research. Meanwhile, Eliot Camplisson and Raj Sinha will expand their roles to become global co-heads of equity research, while Janet Henry will continue to lead the global economics team.
These moves are part of a broader effort by HSBC to streamline operations and enhance efficiency within its investment banking businesses.
